This photo was a part of experimenting technics for making the video “The Size of Snow”.
The trick was to black over paint a slide image of a watering can, and then reflect it on
the wall. The result is a bit surreal. Berlin, 2006.

This big snow cake with candles was inspired by the huge pile of snow on top of the little
statue in Helsinki. The night was cold (-23 degrees) and silent. 2011.

This lamp was a free time project, just for fun.

2. Plywood collapsible shape made without any glue, screws or nails
3. Aluminium made up of 4 pieces of aluminium plate connected with rivets
This design practice driven by Dick van Hoff, was about understanding materials, construction and function.
The last version made of aluminum can carry even an adult and runs very well.

This project we made together with my study mate Regis Lemberthe as an imaginative project for sanitation problem in India.
The data visualisation above shows how much water is used by one person, in one year, for flushing urine and faeces by water toilet, typically used in western countries. 1 pixel = 1 litre.

Below is a picture which shows how little is the result when using a composting toilet – typically the waste breaks down to 10% of its original volume. Design Academy Eindhoven, 2007

Our idea was to bring the knowledge and positive effects of composting toilets to India’s poor areas where is a big lack of toilets and the knowledge of hygiene, and which causes thousands of deaths – especially kids – every year. The objective of a composting toilet is to destroy all the harmful pathogens, and turn the waste nutrients to fertile soil which can be used in agriculture. Ecological composting toilets can protect human health and the environment while limiting the use of water in sanitation systems for hand washing only. Below some scetches how a toilet, forexample in school, could look like.

Felo Bags
These bike bags I created for my own need when I couldn’t find nice ones from the shop.
These bike bags are easy to adjust to a bike, and have several functions.
They can carry heavier loads, and are easy to fold up when needed.
Material is water proof sailing canvas with water proof inner bag.
Felo Bags have been exhibited in Ornamo’s “Liiku! Move!” exhibition in Finland’s Sport Museum, 2011.
